The Kingston Cave provides an ideal environment for the cultivation / production of non-traditional and exotic species of mushrooms.
Water
The Kingston Cave's water resources can be utilized. The flooded portions of the mine are an aquifer and constitute a major reservoir of high grade water.
Storage
The Kingston Cave provides an ideal environment for temperature sensitive products such as wine. The potential also exists for the cave to be used for data storage.
Tourism
In conjunction with the City of Kingston’s recent revitalization efforts, in the nearby historic Rondout waterfront area, the Kingston Caves could become a tourist destination. The cave could also be utilized as an event venue.
Interpretive
The mines industrial history and geology can be used as an interpretive tool for institutions of higher learning.
